Goldens in Golden (via Visit Colorado)

🦮 Goldens in Golden | Downtown Golden, CO | Saturday, February 3 | 11am-1pm | FREE | Celebrate Golden Retrievers with lots of different activities & photo ops. Trained, friendly, and leashed dogs are invited. If you don’t have a dog, no worries, head over to pet others. Learn more.

🍫 A Chocolate Affair | Olde Town Arvada | Saturday, February 3 | 11am-1pm | Sample chocolate from 13+ vendors. All samples are $1, a fundraiser to help stop child abuse in our community. Learn more.

FIRST FRIDAYS

It’s the first weekend of February, which means lots of different blocks across Denver are filled with food, live music, and art exhibits. Consider booking a reservation at a restaurant in one of these areas, then enjoy a casual walk down the street.

HIKE: Lake Ladora, Lake Mary Loop, and Prairie Trail

⛰️ Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge | 20 min from Denver | Easy | FREE | Route

2.7-mile loop trail near Commerce City, Colorado. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 50 minutes to complete. It is a loop with 50 feet of elevation gain. This area is popular for hiking, birding, and fishing, so you will likely see others on the trail. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. You will need to leave dogs at home as they are not permitted.

The weather may be chilly this weekend, so you may opt for the 11-mile wildlife drive auto tour in your vehicle to see the Refuge and its wildlife. It takes an average of 45 minutes to complete.
