OUTDOOR

HIKE: The Manitou Incline

⛰️ Pike National Forest | 1 hr 15 min from Denver | Hard | FREE | Route

4.0-mile loop trail near Manitou Springs, Colorado. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 3 hours to complete. The hike includes 2,744 steps of varying sizes in less than a mile, with 2,000 ft of elevation gain and a maximum grade of 68%. The starting elevation is 6,600 ft and the peak elevation is 8,500 ft. Dogs aren't allowed on this trail.

A few friends from Minnesota and I completed the trail last week, and it was super fun! While we didn’t come close to the WR of just over 17 minutes to climb the stairs, we enjoyed the views and tested our cardio strength.

Parking is limited and costs $15 near the trailhead or hourly paid parking in town is available with a free shuttle to the trailhead. During peak season, make sure to complete the free online reservation.
